GE Plans to Spend $6 Billion on Health-IT



May 8, 2009 | General Electric is set to invest $6 billion over the next six years in health-IT, the company announced yesterday. GE's "HealthyImagination" program aims to reduce health care costs and improve access and quality in rural and underserved areas. About half of the investment ($3 billion) will be in 100 R&D projects in medical technology and electronic helath records, specifically for underserved populations. Business Week
