Cancer Research Groups Call for Change to EU Data Privacy Plans

July 28, 2014 | Cancer research groups are concerned about the informed consent language in the European Union General Data Protection Regulation. The wording of the proposed regulation calls for "explicit and specific patient consent," and several cancer research groups worry that the wording would inhibit even anonymized research on tumor tissue samples.
