LINCOLN, NE - Jun 19, 2014 - TELCOR’s QML version 2.3 point of care software solution has achieved ONC HIT 2014 Edition Modular Inpatient and Modular Ambulatory EHR Certification, which designates that the software is capable of supporting eligible providers and hospitals with meeting the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). QML version 2.3 was certified on June 11, 2014 by ICSA Labs, an Office of the National Coordinator-Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) and is compliant in accordance with the applicable criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“TELCOR is deeply committed to evolving with the health care industry,” said Jim Terrano, president and CEO, TELCOR. “We believe that achieving this important certification not only supports our customers in pursuing their own Meaningful Use objectives, but it also reflects the values with which TELCOR develops its software products - to improve patient care and the security and privacy of patient health information.”

ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon, offers vendor-neutral testing and certification. 2014 Edition ONC HIT Certification is granted to those technologies that are capable of meeting the more rigorous testing criteria developed to support providers and hospitals who wish to demonstrate Stage 2 meaningful use, which focuses on the capability of health IT to deliver higher quality patient care and exchange clinical information securely.

About QML

TELCOR’s QML software solution provides comprehensive point of care data management, electronically receives results from 90+ medical devices used outside of the traditional laboratory setting and sends these results to 40+ laboratory or EMR systems. The extensive list of devices and LIS/EMRs continues to grow as point of care testing moves beyond the walls of the traditional hospital bedside testing model to the ambulatory locations of physician offices and clinics. QML is an open vendor system and is the only point of care middleware solution not owned by a company focused on devices and reagents. The open vendor approach offers the ability to select devices from any manufacturer in this market, enables additions and replacements to be implemented without downtime or impact on other device connectivity and does not limit device selections to a single manufacturer.

In addition to the device and LIS/EMR interfaces that run unattended 24x7x365, QML features automated alerts, dashboards, management by exception, operator testing privileges, automated operator and patient lists to devices, and operator certification tracking and documentation. QML provides unlimited data mining, patient and QC result management, comprehensive reporting for statistics and metrics, and hundreds of configuration options that allow each QML system to be configured to meet the unique requirements of each customer’s point of care testing program. The QML system can be installed in a wide range of virtual configuration options including a distributed processing model and high availability options.
